Making Policy Public
Match-making between Designers and Advocates
Making Policy Public is an ongoing publication series that aims to make public policy truly public that is, accessible and shared. Each issue is produced through a commissioned collaboration between a designer and an advocate. I developed the series with my colleagues at the Center For Urban Pedagogy and edited the first season.
Each year, a jury of artists, graphic designers, grassroots advocates, and public policy experts convenes to choose a slate of issues and collaborators. CUP works with the selected designers and advocates to produce a print publication that folds out into a poster. Half of the print run is distributed for free through grassroots channels, the other half is sold at art and design bookstores to recoup costs.
